Meet the Park Hall Academy Local Governing Committee
A welcome from our Chair of Governors, Mrs V Poole
It is my pleasure and privilege to be the Chair of Governors at this wonderful academy. I have been associated with the Academy for many years, initially as a teacher in the Early Years before becoming the Assistant Head up until my retirement. I was then delighted to be appointed as a governor.
Being a governor is a most rewarding experience as we see the development of our children and staff throughout their time at the Academy and beyond.
We are proud members of the part of The St. Bart’s Multi Academy. The Local Governing Committee made the decision to work in collaboration with the Trust as we share a common vision and values. All members of the St. Bart’s Trust are committed to improving the life chances of all children, wherever they may be and this is at the heart of all decisions that our Governors make. Our Local Governing Committee works tirelessly to support our school and to reflect our mission statement to ensure that we provide the best opportunities for our children and families. Our Local Governing Committee welcomes feedback from the school community to review where further improvements may be identified.
As Chair of Governors, I can be contacted via the Academy.
We are pleased to introduce the Local Governing Committee (LGC), including any roles or positions that each Governor holds. All members of the LGC disclose any financial or business interests they may hold and these are shown alongside the Governor photographs. Our LGC have a wide range of skills and expertise which supports our mission to continually improve all aspects of our academy.
As a Local Governing Committee, we have three core functions:
- To ensure the clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- To hold the executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance of staff;
- To oversee the financial performance of the organisation and make sure that its money is well spent.
Our LGC meet once each half term to provide challenge and support to Senior Leaders, to ensure that we are successful in meeting our School Improvement Priorities, and that we are following our strategies and managing our resources well.
Senior Leaders and the LGC share a common vision and work in partnership to ‘Continue the Learning Journey Together.’
